Having spent my life in Oregon and now living in the country outside of Salem, I love this state and believe that small businesses are the backbone of our economy; as a lover of numbers, accounting, and bookkeeping are my happy place. As an adult, I returned to school after working in accounting for over a decade, primarily for small businesses. Attending school full-time, I earned my B.S. in Accounting with an Information Technology minor.

QuickBooks software and I are long-time friends. I began working with this software in the mid-2000s, so after researching the choices, I joined QuickBooks as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program Member and returned to work.

I am delighted to be a QuickBooks solution provider for online QuickBooks software. Now that QuickBooks desktop is no longer the central platform, QuickBooks online is significantly improving.

More about Easy Keeping Books

Our first year is a success! We did little in the way of marketing and are fortunate to have a good business through referrals.

Clients usually partner with Easy Keeping Books for one of three reasons –

  1. New businesses starting out, or the business is managing their books, but it turns out to be a lot. I understand; I don’t try to do what you do – I am a degreed accountant.
  2. The business had a bad experience and has come to Easy Keeping Books for help (there is more of this than I would like).
  3. Temporary cleanup, scanning and entering backup, working with CPAs so the business owner doesn’t have to, working with the state and IRS regarding taxes, etc.

NOTE: We are not tax preparers, but we prepare everything for the tax preparers, and for less.

An example of industries and areas of accounting I worked in the past –

  • Besides being a degreed accountant, I am an experienced, successful small business owner. The first business I merged with a Fortune 500 company after 2.5 years. Yay business plans!
  • My accounting and some payroll experience is broad (alphabetically) –  engineering and appraisals, insurance and investments, manufacturing, publishing, and service businesses such as restaurants, retail, and more.
  • Currently, we have clients in (alphabetically) – construction, education, medical, product resale and technology.
  • E-commerce experience.
  • Excel expert with experience working with websites’ back-end to collect data.
  • Experienced at importing and exporting data in a variety of formats.
  • Various soft money (grants) funded departments/organizations.

Numbers are my first love, and I am delighted to provide online services as a member of the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program.

Enjoying Life

Living in a lovely craftsman-style cottage (a Sears) in a small town, I spend time on the house and yard, enjoy reading, writing, knitting, and periodically putting together a jigsaw puzzle, plus anything outside in all weather until we hit about 80. Thankfully, I do have Air Conditioning and a cat.
